I have worked in higher education for almost three decades, from admissions and orientation at a small liberal arts college to residential life and academic advising at a private research university. I have also taught various courses, including Organization and Governance, Internship in Higher Education, Helping Skills for Student Affairs Professionals, Budget and Finance, and Social Change Leadership. Below, I list more recent experiences but a complete work history can be found on my CV.

Summer 2021
University of Illinois, Chicago
Taught EDPS 519 Student Transitions to College​, an online masters course in the Urban Higher Education Program that examines how students make the transition to college. Course was online.
2018-2020
Loyola University Chicago
Instructor of record for two courses and teaching assistant for three courses including, Organization and Governance, Budget and Finance, and Internship in Higher Education. Courses were taught in person.

ACADEMIC ADVISER
Advised over 250 undergraduate students on academic and personal issues and provide foundational career advising, tracked and updated degree-program progress, and offered extended support to first-year, commuter, transfer, first-generation to college, and ethnic minority students on transitioning to college.
2020-2021
Northern Illinois University
Taught a 4:4 course load for three semesters and two courses in the summer, including Qualitative Research Seminar, Post-Secondary Access to Higher Education, and Cross-Cultural Leadership and Supervision. Courses were taught in person, online, and in a hybrid format.

Schuler Scholar Program
DIRECTOR
Trained and managed school staff in the delivery of programming to prepare first-generation-to-college students to attend selective, private colleges and universities.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION
Directed the recruitment of underrepresented minorities, resulting in a 20% increase in the number of matriculating students in a two-year time period; Coordinated the invitation and travel arrangements of admitted students of color, including managing a budget of $65k.
